Rari Dior was born on February 26, 1999, in Teshie Nungua, Accra, Ghana a vibrant coastal city alive with color, language, rhythm, and the creative pulse of West Africa. His childhood was shaped by the scent of street food, the bold patterns of Ankara fabric, and the songs echoing from his family’s old radio.
But everything changed on August 7, 2009, when he left Ghana for the United States. After a long, cold layover at London Heathrow, he landed in Harlem in the early morning of August 9, 2009. As his uncle embraced him on the steps of their new home, one realization settled deep within him: new hope always demands new courage.
In Harlem especially within the heart of Little Senegal on 116th Street, Rari found the perfect meeting point between two worlds: the Ghanaian soul in his blood and the relentless New York spirit shaping his future. It was here that his identity began to take form: a fusion of culture, style, ambition, and survival.
💫 Journey, Highs & Lows: From BMX, Fashion, to the Name “RARi”:
Growing up, Rari existed at the crossroads of creativity and the harsh realities of the city. His mother, a gifted seamstress, taught him that clothing was not just something you wore it was a language. This early influence sparked his love for fashion, leading him to redesign school uniforms and eventually sell his custom pieces.
On the streets of Harlem, he immersed himself in the world of BMX, mastering extreme tricks and adrenaline fueled stunts. His speed, boldness, and the way he could slip away from NYPD bike patrols earned him a nickname shouted by friends across the block:
“RARi! RARi!”
—fast, fearless, impossible to catch.
Then came the second half of his identity, gifted by a Jamaican friend who exclaimed:
“BREDDDA, YOU DRESS LIKE CHRISTIAN DIOR!”
And from that moment, the name that would define him was born:
“RARi DiOR.”
He attended performing arts school, studying fashion, musical theatre, acting, music production, and videography. His creative path expanded to modeling runways, fashion events, and eventually signing with FOMO Models. By 2016, he had entered the sneaker resell world, using bots to secure Yeezy and Off White drops, turning his passion for street culture into business.
