Multi-platinum Canadian rock band Finger Eleven have officially returned with their first full length studio album in nearly a decade, titled “Last Night On Earth.” Alongside the album’s release, the band also unveiled their latest single “The Mountain.”
The album, their seventh studio release, arrives via Better Noise Music and marks Finger Eleven’s first collaboration with the label.
This long awaited return is not merely a nostalgic moment, but a confident statement that Finger Eleven remain a vital force within modern rock music.
💫 About the Single “The Mountain”:
“The Mountain” serves as the fourth single from Last Night On Earth. Clocking in at approximately four minutes, the track is an epic, cinematic rock anthem driven by powerful melodies and expansive dynamics.
Lyrically, the song reflects the creative journey, the search for inspiration, and the challenges of pushing forward as an artist.
Frontman Scott Anderson explains that the song uses a fantasy inspired narrative as a metaphor for Finger Eleven’s own musical evolution an ascent filled with setbacks, determination, and eventual clarity.
🎶 Musical Atmosphere & Creative Process:
During the creation of Last Night On Earth, Finger Eleven drew inspiration from legendary acts such as Phil Collins and Genesis, particularly in their approach to melody and grandeur. Guitarist Rick Jackett describes the album as a return to the “big rock sound” that defined the band’s early career.
Musically, the album blends:
Alternative rock foundations
Modern hard rock energy
Melodic, arena ready hooks
A balance between acoustic intimacy and full-throttle anthems
The result is a record that feels both seasoned and fresh reflecting the band’s growth without abandoning their signature sound.
