At first listen, Question may sound like a direct confrontation toward an unfaithful partner. But beneath the surface, the song reveals a deeper narrative: the confrontation of one’s own emotions after trust has been broken.
According to Tabby, the song is about allowing space for honesty and emotional release. “This song is about confronting a cheating partner, but at its core, it’s about confronting our own feelings. It’s about allowing ourselves to feel angry and vulnerable, and being honest with our emotions instead of hiding them,” she explains.
This emotional transparency makes “Question” deeply relatable, especially for listeners who have experienced betrayal and the internal struggle that follows.
🎶 Musical Direction and Production:
Musically, “Question” stays true to Dolla’s signature pop sound bold, confident, and infectious while introducing a more emotionally mature layer. The song balances a powerful lyrical narrative with an irresistibly catchy hook, showcasing the group’s growth as artists.
Produced and arranged by Justin Seow and Kuizz, the track originated from a demo with a strong chorus before being reshaped collaboratively with the members of Dolla to heighten its emotional impact.
“We received an amazing demo from Kuizz and Justin with a super catchy chorus. This time, we wanted something more lyrical and relatable, so we adjusted the instrumentation and lyrics to make the emotions feel real,” Tabby shares. The result is a polished pop track that delivers both sonic impact and emotional depth.
💫 Visual Concept, Choreography, and Performance:
The intensity of “QUESTION” is further amplified through dynamic choreography and striking visuals. DOLLA collaborated with Akkaraphol Prompen (Earth-E), a renowned choreographer from Thailand, who brought a fresh perspective to the performance.
Sabronzo describes the choreography as a fusion of femininity, confidence, and playfulness. The movements are intentional and expressive, reflecting the song’s assertive attitude while maintaining DOLLA’s signature charm.
The music video elevates the narrative even further with a bold retro diner concept, filmed at Fowlboys, The Campus. Angel explains that the visual direction was meant to feel fun yet savage. A single male lead portrays all of the group’s partners—symbolizing betrayal—while DOLLA confront him with wit, confidence, and playful dominance, even dragging around miniature versions of him as a visual metaphor.
